Essence of fairtrade was closely felt during pandemic

Unity and solidarity in fairtrade to make difference in lives.

KGDG is a registered cooperative society of 10 -12 girls from a extended family, who work at their will after finishing their house hold works, they have a small room which they use as their workplace. The wages they get is on the basis of piece they make in a day; they decide the rate on the basis of time taken for making a piece. They enjoy working here, as it provides a reunion of the peer group athome, due to conservative nature of society these young girls are not allowed to go out side.

They have not been even to Delhi ,  one of their  brother,  Mubeen, co-ordinates for them, He is also the artisan’s representative to Manjeen. Mubeen’s nature of job is to bring raw materials from market, and organizing the work and delivering in time. Number of girls in a family is generally greater, as these girls are not
allowed to work out side. Hence, it make s them very dependable on their parents, who have a little or limited source of income to support the family. By making jewellry they earn and save for their marriage, or buy cloths for themselves, or support their family in the time of crises. Despite being alienated form the rest of active world, their association plays a role of social catalyst to bring them into a world of difference and they are a part of it, this makes them happy and confident. They are not shy any more, they openly discuss their work, their life and most importantly the perception toward bringing up their next generation has totally changed.
